In my definition the word “Great” means doing what is more than what is expected of you and striving to give more and going beyond one’s call of duty. As a Realtor, the benefit of a client hiring you is that they get much more in value than what they would get with another Realtor working in the same territory.
To be better than the rest of the pack in any field or business you have to constantly educate yourself. Sure one needs to take stock of where one has come in life and have pride in being the realtor that you are now and being the person that you are. But you always need to be aware of the fact that you can always improve professionally. If you want to stay on top it pays not to rest on your past laurels but to keep improving in all areas.
Business of Real Estate
Because of the large amounts of money involved, the business of Real Estate is highly competitive and attracts greedy people as well as intelligent folks. Top Real Estate Agents do not work in a vacuum. They have a large social network which aids their business efforts and is incidental to their success. Top Realtors have the support and backing of government agencies, trade groups, local institutions etc. Top Realtors know most of the HNI’s in their cities as well as other prominent people. As a result of this, most people recommend the local Top Agents immediately even if they have never used the services of the realtor because their name and reputation precedes them. There is a general overall consensus in the market that a Top Realty Agent is actually the foremost and topmost authority on property in the property marketplace. Everyone knows your name or the name of your agency and they convince their friends and families to consult you even if they have never consulted you themselves. Which is why cheating people and skimping on services is never an option if you want to gain a reputation in the market and be known as the Top Agent.

I like to tell the new employees of our organization that you are never just a Realtor – you are also a member of society as a whole. When you considered a Top Realtor there is the question of power and prestige coming into play and whether you are ready to play the part. In the business world due to unrealistic demands and goals one is tempted to cheat and profit. You tend to meet people with all kinds of motivations. But I say always stick to the moral high ground and protect your brand and the legacy that you are working so hard to build will never be at risk. The real estate market in India is still evolving. We believe that today’s Real Estate Agents should set the best practices for future Realty professionals to aspire to. An honest real estate market is a market that is thriving and is one that encourages people to buy lets lenders loan.
I feel that the rewards of conducting one’s affairs of business using high are many. Chief among them is the fact that you can take away the insecurities and fears that many potential new clients have of hiring you or hiring any realtor for that matter. Go to any real estate forum and you will find many threads by people proclaiming that people can and should try to conduct their own property purchase and sales without the help of a broker. Some people feel that you can save the broker’s commission by doing the extra work yourself.
Top Realtors conduct most of their businesses based on recommendations, introductions, great testimonials and good feedback and stellar business reviews and referrals from past customers and clients.
A Top Realtor has an important role in the community. People look upto top Realtors for their opinions on all kinds of things apart from just property issues and concerns. Top realtors have to be socially responsible because they care about the local community and are not just out to make a quick buck.
