If you are in market as a real estate investor, then a lot of your work with your real estate broker is based on relationship. We believe that a good relationship makes all aspects of life simple and joyful. In real estate, the law of reciprocity also applies – What goes around comes around. In other words, you need to treat your real estate broker the same way you expect to be treated.

1. Why You Should Commit

When we make a commitment, something extraordinary happens. The commitment could apply to a relationship, a project or an idea. When we make a promise or a vow, some things happen that pushes us forward. You can also apply the words – goals, dreams, passion to the word commitment. The whole point is that when we put our intentions into a project or an individual, a higher power takes over and assists us on our journey.

A good real estate agent is your number one ally. If you are committed to your real estate broker, then they would also be prone to making an equal commitment to you. Because that’s how life works. You as the investor has to take the first step.

2. Just One is Enough

Most people have the tendency to believe that ‘more is always better’ and will apply the same when it comes to choosing their real estate agent. You may try to get another agent or two. You might find yourself saying, ‘So-and-so will still be my primary agent but I will just have these two on my side so that I do not miss out on any deals’. But then do remember that the higher the commitment, the higher is the profit. If you want to be a successful real estate investor, you must make a full-on and all-out commitment to the right real estate broker. It really makes a lot of sense. Think about it and put yourself in the shoes of a real estate agent. When someone is loyal to you and makes a commitment, you feel good right? You feel needed and it is important to have someone put their faith and trust in you. Committing to your real estate broker is an act of faith and one that will make you successful and lots of money!

3. Choosing Well

Remember to choose your broker wisely. If you make a commitment to an agent who does not have the connections to get you the best deals, it scarcely matters if they are reasonable, committed or experienced. On the other hand just because your agent can bring you a great deal, that does not imply that they are right agent for you. They may not be talented enough or connected enough for you to sell it later. They may not be good enough to close a deal, handle problems and communicate wisely with you. If you are willing to be a long term real estate investor, you have a right to have the right broker on your side. Since this is by far the biggest and most important decision you will make in your investment career, it is important for you to take your time to choose the best real estate broker.

4. Make Your Life Easy

When you have just one real estate broker as your investment ally, life is generally just less complicated. You do not have to rack your brains to remember what you said and to whom. You will not have to remember which agent you spoke to about a certain property, loan, builder etc. Uncomfortable situations will not arise where you have to tell one agent that you brought the property from someone else. Most important of all is that you will not be pushed into a position where you may have to, want to or need to lie.

5. The Law of Attraction

The whole idea for you to get into real estate as an investor is for you to have the best possible real estate agent to help you make profits and help others achieve their goals of home ownership. The more you remain committed to your real estate broker, the more opportunities you will receive.
